Dutchman Raymond Teunisse (aka DJ Raymundo) developed his passion for music at a very young age. He was inspired by his father’s love of 80’s synth pop (Hot Butter, Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk) and Escape resident DJ Marcello, who was spinning at the famous Club IT in Amsterdam at the time. Marcello gave Raymond the opportunity to start playing in the same club, an incredible opportunity at such a young age.
He was asked to become resident of Holland’s most famous nightclub, the Escape Venue. For over a decade Raymundo has consistently rocked his Saturday night residency entitled Brainwash. Crucially, he is also the talent booker, inviting national and international top DJ’s (Roger Sanchez, Fedde le Grand, Martin Solveig, Chuckie, Luciano, David Guetta, The Shapeshifters, Axwell, etc) to offer the most amazing night out in Amsterdam.
“The Escape’s status as Amsterdam’s finest club means so much to me because I have been resident DJ and programmer for so many years. The endless queues each and every weekend are further evidence of our leading position in Dutch nightlife”.
Looking back over the years, Raymond has headlined major festivals such as Dance Valley, Mystery Land, Loveland Festival, Latin Village and almost every club throughout the Netherlands including Hotel Arena, Hed Kandi, Panama, Nighttown, Republiek Bloemendaal, Las Palmas, Sinners, Roxy, It, Girls Love DJ’s, Loveland ADE, Supperclub, Powerzone, Beachbop, Countdown (tv) and many more. He is also frequently booked outside of Holland in places as far flung as Norway, Dubai, USA and Egypt.
In addition, 2017 was a very special year for Raymundo for another reason, as he celebrated his 12,5 years residency at Escape Venue behind the decks. This was also the moment Raymundo decided to take his dj career to the next level with more releases and aiming for more gigs abroad.
In the passed he produced tracks with Gabriel&Castellon, Addy van der Zwan & Robert Feelgood which can be found on all digital music portals. He signed his tracks to major labels like Spinnin Records, Sneakerz Muzik, Housesession, Area94 and Star69. His love for the origin of housemusic resulted in a solid remix of the legendary track Yéké Yéké by Mory Kanté in 2011. Last year he remixed another classic. Together with Dave Leatherman, he made a remix of Soup’s New York which was released in march of 2018 by Armada Music. In 2022 a series of brand new releases will be released.
With his weekly residency in Escape and lots of upcoming performances DJ Raymundo is busier then ever!
